Patriot Machine, Inc. has added the largest flatbed scanner on the planet to our engineering department. This scanner accurately scans a 72 by 196 inch (6 x 19 feet) area within ± 0.002". The scan subject can be Mylar, paper, router tools, ATs (Apply Templates), DLTs (Developed Layout Templates) for metallic and non-metallic parts. Since the machine is a flatbed frame with vacuum to hold down the subject-- old historical maps and fragile originals can safely be scanned. Don't try that with a roll feed scanner!
After scanning the images can easily be electronically archived or transmitted. CAD conversions are quicker, and more accurate due to the environmentally controlled room and the accuracy of the scanner.
